Rogerio Lima is a Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering performing research on Aerial Robotics. Localization and state estimation of tethered UAVs are the focuses of his research.

Rogerio Rodrigues Lima completed its bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2009 and its master's degree in 2013, both from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). During his master's research, he worked on an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) project at this University in the development of an embedded system with instrumentation and digital signal processing capabilities. In this development, tasks such as sensor modeling, simulation, and implementation of sensor fusion algorithms were accomplished. Part of his research can be accessed in this paper [1]. Other contributions/participation can be viewed in [2] and [3].

From March 2013 to July 2014 he worked at FITec (Foundation for Technological Innovation - Belo Horizonte, Brazil) where he joined a UAV team project working in the development and operational tasks of this project. In parallel, from Mar/2013 until Dec/2019 he also worked as a lecturer in the university Uni-BH (University Center of Belo Horizonte, Brazil) in the Electrical Engineering department, teaching courses such as Electronics, Electrical Circuits, and Control Systems. He also worked as an Embedded System Consultant at Konatus (Sao Paulo, Brazil) in the development of customized electronic projects.
In January 2020 he was accepted as a Ph.D. student at West Virginia University (Morgantown, USA) in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE). He joined the Field and Aerial Robotic (FARO) Laboratory, where most of the research activities and experimental tests are conducted in coordination with his advisor Dr. Guilherme Pereira. Currently, he is working on a ground-aerial robotic system project, more specifically on aspects of the drone, such as the localization of a tethered drone, and autonomous landing.
